Radio Societe Francaise Thomson Houston, radio makers in Paris. In 1893, the Societe Francaise Thomson Houston is created in France to operate patents of the US company Thomson Houston (electricity transportation, streetcar, electric traction etc. ).
In 1909, the SFTH also makes telephones and in 1921, with the CGEL (General Company of Electricity), they make radio tubes (Mazda). In 1931, the SFTH acquires the Ducretet and Roger company to make radiosets.
In 1923, the SFTH makes 2 models of radios, the type TH 3 (with 3 tubes) and the type TH 5 using 5 TM or MICRO tubes. The presented model is a type TH 5 of 1926 whose main evolutions are the use of a bigrid and for the output a b443 penthod which Philips has just finalized, explaining the presence of a 18v battery.
Top-notch manufacturing, molded aluminium frame, outside made of aluminum painted to imitate mahogany. Inside, very few welds, the connections are made of screws, nuts and locknuts and all quality components.
