Rare Museum piece for sale : one of the very first radio sets made in 1921 by the maison Ducretet E. roger in Paris.
There are 2 blocks, each one has 3 tubes, the first one acting as a high-frequency amplifier and decoder, the second one is a low-frequency amplifier.
This radio set is in the same condition as when it was found in the family who bought it new back then and as it was in years 1924, 1925 when it was still used.
It is equipped with radio-micro tubes and with a rheostat also marked DUCRETET E.ROGER Paris. The radio-micro tubes appeared during 1923, they used 8 times less power and could last 10 times longer, they needed a lower heating voltage (3,6 volts instead of 4 volts as in the first TM tubes).
In radio sets made later by Ducretet, the pianos and even the RM7, there are double rheostats to power both the TM and the radio-micro tubes.
The 2 blocks are marked in ebonite ATELIER DUCRETET E.ROGER PARIS and are numbered 151 and 161.
The rheostat is also marked Ducretet.
Dimensions : 29 by 21 cm.
In very nice original condition, the interiors are strictly the original ones. The 2 blocks also have the original vendor plate, the maison Persillon in Dax.
It is the first version with the brass screws and the large brass buttons, one of the first version with a 7 contact rheostat.
This table version also exists in wall version as shown on the ad (see last photo).
Headphones on the first photograph are not for sale.
Price: 6 500 euros.
